My Colleague’s Voice

To foster and strengthen a rich and dynamic sense of belonging, connection, and cohesion, My Colleague’s Voice Workshop creates opportunities for folks to have conscious and inspired interactions with their workplace teams and colleagues. These hosted gatherings are simple in format and focus and are designed to expand a sense of deep hospitality and collegiality. All My Colleague’s Voice gatherings include refreshment, reconnection, and reflection for and among old, new, and temporary collegial neighbors as a way to build collaborative relationships and mutual respect and trust.

Outcome over time: The My Neighbor’s Voice/My Colleague’s format is a way for everyone to get heard and connected, and it’s a way to make informed decisions. Here’s how: An individual would first identify a tough decision they needed to make, the deadline and parameters. Next, instead of having a meeting with some vague goal of consensus, they could say in the meeting or to various individuals, “I need to take responsibility for this choice by this date and time. I need your feedback so that I can make the best decision possible.”

Instead of the standard MNV Listening Card questions, this individual writes down the biggest questions and dilemmas that they are facing and invites their colleagues to answer them. The rules are exactly the same as a MNV forum: 3 minutes for each response, with no talking, no questions, commentary, or discussion until the very end (if ever).  Suddenly listening and sharing, with no compulsion to weigh in or debate someone else’s response, has a greater capacity to impact decision-making in a more informed, methodical, and potentially mutually beneficial way.

My Colleague’s Voice is an eight-hour introductory workshop that can be expanded and tailored to your timeframe and needs. (Two days or four 2-hour sessions over three - four days, etc.)
